A quarter of the adult population in the UK has had some form of adverse credit history e.g. arrears, CCJ's and bankruptcy. However, this does not mean their personal financial futures have no hope for recovery. There are financial institutions prepared to consider taking adverse credit history customers on.

If you have ever been in the unfortunate position of falling into arrears with any payments, received a County Court Judgement against your name or have been declared bankrupt, then you will know how difficult it is to pick up your personal finances and try to carry on as normal. The good news is that there are two credit card products you can apply for.

Adverse credit history is a term that many of us in the UK are familiar with or have fallen victim to. However, consumers with such history need not feel left out in the cold, as there are financial institutions that will still offer financial products for their use.

Few credit card providers are willing to take 'risks' with adverse credit history consumers applying for their products. However, those that do offer you a chance to rebuild your credit rating whilst enjoying the convenience of using a credit card.

The Associates Classic Credit Card

The Associates Classic credit card is available to all, including those with adverse credit history, with a current balance transfer rate and introductory rate for cash offer of 3.9% (valid for 3 months). This card also offers you a 56-day interest free period.

Capital One Classic

If you have an adverse credit history, they are more likely to offer you a card than most other issuers. The Capital One Classic MasterCard gives you all the flexibility of a credit card while helping you build or strengthen your credit rating.
